25The mid-term review

Dear friends,

Most of the FSCA projects have now been implemented for almost 50% of their life span, so the moment has come to take stock of what has been done.

This important exercise will enable us to verify the validity and the correspondence of the objectives and strategies of the Programme with the reality of the countries involved. It is also the time to check the interest and real participation of the beneficiaries with the implementation of the Programme.

The midterm review is a team work where the national projects staff, the budget holders, the Inter-country coordination unit, the beneficiaries, counterparts and the FAO technical officers involved will contribute according to their respective roles and responsibilities.

The final result of the exercise will be a set of recommendations aiming to improve, if and where needed, the implementation of the FSCA Programme, to make it closer and more responding to the needs and concerns of the beneficiaries and their organizations. The midterm review will be conducted by two A word from the ICC… Daniele Salvini Inter Country Coordinator (ICC) GTFS/RAF/426/ITA The mid-term review international consultants – one selected by the Donor and the second one selected by FAO – who will be accompanied in each country by a third local expert representing the interest and the views of the partner governments.

We are sure that all the stakeholders will provide this review with the needed attention and support and we believe that the final result will facilitate the achievement of the Programme’s expected results and help the beneficiaries to have a better food security and improved lives.
