OVERALL OBJECTIVE: The project has been designed to coordinate Italian-funded national food security projects in Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Guinea and The Gambia ensuring their coherence to the same strategic framework. It also addresses regional issues, such as access to regional and international markets, food quality and safety, cross-border trade, and harmonization of policies and institutions to support competitiveness and modernization.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE: To ensure that lessons are shared across countries and that each country project operates within the general strategy orientation intended for these projects.

PROJECT AREA: Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Senegal, Sierra Leone and The Gambia.

BENEFICIARIES: The project primarily involves the National Project Coordinators and all national staff involved in projects’ implementation at country level. In addition, representatives of existing or newly established farmer-based organizations are also among the primary beneficiaries.
